Students have worked to design the best catapult to "chunk" their pumpkin to their cup. It is so neat to see engineering, design, and critical thinking going on throughout the building while still having fun for Halloween! Ms. Turk's 3rd Grade

Students in Ms. Calhoun's 2nd grade class are loving GUIDED SCIENCE! Students rotate through science stations each day; stations include Teacher Time, STEM, Technology (with Discovery Education Boards), and Literacy. Science is interactive, engaging and fun!
Congratulations to our four STEAM Leaders! Michele Seborowski-Price, Darryl Prendergast, Mark Mason and Elizabeth Eppes.
We are excited to bring the culture of STEAM to OPES! Why should I teach this way?Guided Math mirrors the idea of Guided Reading. It begins with a mini-lesson and moves to student groups or independent activities with an emphasis on math discourse among students. It individualizes instruction to best meet the needs of each student. It allows struggling learners to get extra support and reteaching from teachers while also providing enrichment to high-flyers.
If you are interested in getting started with Guided Math, receiving feedback on your instruction and/or refining your Guided Math instruction, I am here to support you! |
