I love seeing a short & explicit mini-lesson, then moving into three rounds of differentiated guided math groups. There is so much learning, collaboration and critical thinking going on during Mrs. Montini's math time!
Ms. McCall's 3rd grade class jump right into three rotations of guided math groups. Students play fun math games, discuss math with friends, and work in a small group with the teacher. There is a lot of math talk and student engagement happening in this room!
Students in Ms. Hamilton's 3rd grade class practiced rounding to the nearest ten with a life-size number line. They practiced in their mini-lesson, then tried on their own in a small group! What a fun way to learn to round!
